Procedure for Obtaining a Firearms Permit.
- Visit your primary care physician and have a medical fitness assessment issued. – Download the document in PDF or DOCX format at
. Your examining physician should already have this document on hand. - Go to the Police of the Czech Republic (PČR) at Plavská 1913, 370 74 České Budějovice 7, with your medical report. Fill out and submit the application form and pay the administrative fee of 3,000 CZK.
This amount applies when the application is submitted in person or electronically using a method that verifies the applicant’s identity (e.g., a data box).
If the application is submitted through the Ministry of the Interior’s online submission portal, a reduced administrative fee of 2,400 CZK applies.

- If everything goes well, you'll be added to the Candidate Registry.
- After that, I recommend finding a location (shooting range) where you'd like to take the test and contacting that location.
Please note that the agreement with the test venue is binding.
The designated location (shooting range) retrieves your authorization to take the test from the Candidate Registry; once capacity is reached, this list of individuals is locked in the Candidate Registry.
- Introductory courses will be held at our shooting range in the form of either two sessions or a single session.

Course fee: 2,000 CZK - B – Training – handling firearms, preparation for cleaning, and basic disassembly of other firearms present during the final exam at our shooting range. / Shooting with pistols and semi-automatic rifles.
Course fee: 2,000 CZK - Separate day, exam date: 2,000 CZK

For applicants who express interest in the full course, including the exam day (i.e., A+B + exam day), the flat rate is 5,000.-
+ Bonus: If you fail to obtain a firearms license on your first attempt, your second attempt on a new date is free.
Our shooting range will host exams, training sessions with practical components, and comprehensive instruction for obtaining a firearms license.
